The Official Site of Dogs Against Romney founded 2007. Hi, I'm Rusty. Mitt Romney is mean to dogs. Help me get my message out about the Mitt Romney dog on roof story. Putting a dog on the car roof is abuse. Remember Crate-Gate. I ride inside. Mitt is Mean. Contribute to DogPAC.Dog on the Roof book.
We have always had cats and cat-lovers as members of our pack, but we've never had a t-shirt for them. I got SO MANY requests for it this week that I finally did it - we now have an official "Cat Division" in Dogs Against Romney, and an awesome shirt to go with it! HISS!
You can check them out in the Official Dogs Against Romney Store HERE.
By now, hundreds of thousands of people have heard the troubling - and evolving - story about how Mitt Romney transported his dog on the roof of their station wagon - and how, on at least one 12-hour trip, the poor dog showed its fear and displeasure. Soon, millions of Americans and people the world over will hear about it - and it will be forever known as "crate-gate."
I am pleased to announce Official Dogs Against Romney T-shirts a now available! You asked for it, and now you can SHOW your support of dogs and your indignation at Mitt Romney for the way he treats dogs. There are many styles, designs, and colors available and more on the way soon featuring dogs from our pack!
Best of all, our vendor makes it possible for the shirts to be AFFORDABLE for you and still enables us to donate a portion of all proceeds to animal welfare organizations.
As a part of our effort to stop Mitt Romney from becoming president, we are selling shirts and other merchandise. We are selling these items for two reasons, primarily. First, to get our message out – in the early days of our Pack’s growth, hundreds of requests were received for t-shirts and other merchandise so we worked hard to make that happen. Second, we want to use this opportunity to raise funds in support of an animal welfare organization.
Which Animal Welfare Organization?
Initially, we proposed to the Pack that we would make a contribution to the Humane Society of the United States. However, several Pack members objected to that idea because this organization supports some practices and policies that are objectionable to many Pack members. So, we decided to let the Pack – our community – decide which organization to support.
How Will the Community Decide?
Dogs Against Romney, at the conclusion of our effort (whenever that may be) will survey our community on Facebook for nominations of organizations to support. We will then narrow the nominations down to the 3 or 4 most-nominated choices, and post a poll on the Facebook page for members to vote for the organization that the majority of our community believes should receive it.
How Much Will be Donated?
The total amount to be donated will be determined by the amount of money that is raised through sales of Dogs Against Romney merchandise, after expenses are covered. We have worked hard to find a good, trustworthy vendor that also enables us to offer merchandise at an affordable price, while also allowing us to earn a margin. Still, only a fraction of the total price you pay for a Dogs Against Romney item actually goes to our organization. After our expenses are covered, we hope to have 5%-10% of the total sales left to donate.
When Will the Recipient Be Selected?
As soon as it is clear that our mission has concluded. This will be when Mitt Romney is defeated, either for the Republican nomination, or when the general election is over.
