Announcing "Roof-Bork" Romney

What is "roof-borking?"

The verb "bork" is U.S. political slang referring to former Reagan Supreme Court nominee Robert H. Bork, whose nomination was successfully thwarted by Democrats who systematically vilified Bork to the point that his nomination was rejected by the Senate - even 6 Republicans voted against him.

Officially, the Oxford English Dictionary defines "to bork" as "to vilify (a person) systematically, esp. in the mass media, usually with the aim of preventing his or her appointment to public office."

"Roof-bork," subsequently, refers to the systematic vilification of presidential candidate Mitt Romney by Dogs Against Romney, a grassroots organization composed of over 35,000 pet-lovers who believe Romney abused his own dog. Romney admits to transporting his family dog strapped to the roof of his car, while the luggage rode safely inside. Romney also brags of "emotion-free crisis management" when the frightened dog soiled himself, and the car, during a 12-hour trip to Canada. Rather than take the frightened, lonely, sick dog into the car with the rest of the family, Romney merely stopped at a gas station and coldly hosed-down both the dog and the car before continuing the trip - leaving the dog on the roof.

Members of the fast-growing Dogs Against Romney "Super Pack" believe Romney's treatment of his own pet is indicative of a serious character flaw, which is further indicated by other comments made by the candidate, such as "I'm not concerned about the very poor;" "I like to be able to fire people who provide services to me;" and "corporations are people."

Just as "borking" convinced members of the Senate to reject a nominee to the Supreme Court, "roof-borking" seeks to convince members of the voting public to reject presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

VIDEO: The Terrifying Ride of Mitt Romney's Dog

Mr. Erik Mayer, a member of our Super Pack, created this incredible video reenactment of the ride Mitt Romney's dog experienced on the roof of the Romney family car. We've always imagined how terrifying such a ride would be, but this video really brings the reality of the experience to light. The callousness - the cruelty - of subjecting a family pet to this FOR 12 HOURS, even after the dog soiled himself in fear, is difficult to fathom.
